In compliance with the Code of Virginia of 1950, and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider a proposed ordinance entitled, “Procurement Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia.” 

The public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia. The public may comment in person at the public hearing or submit written responses to County Clerk Martha Collins at the address below or by e-mail at mgcollins@wytheco.org

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors (“WCBOS”) is seeking consulting engineering firms who would provide professional engineering services for design of railroad crossing arms and signals at the intersection of Gator Lane and Kents Lane. Offerors shall provide qualification and experience of designed projects approved by Virginia Department of Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railroad (NS). 

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals This Request does not commit the Wythe County Board of Supervisors to provide any payment for costs associated with the preparation of proposals submitted in response to this Request for Proposal. 

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will notify the consultant of such decision, revise the scope of services and respective man-hours. The change will be implemented utilizing an additional task order or supplemental agreement based on the contract type.

Requirements: Offerors shall provide:

  1. Qualification of individual employees having experience with similar projects.
  2. Similar project experience.

SCOPE

The scope of work shall consist of providing professional engineering services for design of railroad crossing arms and signals at the intersection of Gator Lane and Kents Lane adhering to all state, federal and local regulations and NS guidelines.

This project will be developed utilizing VDOT’s policies and procedures and FHWA’s guidelines.

The Request for Proposal shall be organized in the following order:

  • Transmittal letter with Understanding of Scope of Work.
  • Response showing similar experience relating to the Scope of Work .
  • Present Workload with Department form (RFP template 15Jan29-CPO-LAD-RFP Attachment J).
  • Qualifications - Standard Form (SF) 330 Part I – one combined for the project team.
  • Qualifications - Standard Form (SF) 330 Part II – one for each firm.
  • Team Organization Chart – Section D Standard Form (SF) 330 Part I.
  • Full size copies of Commonwealth of Virginia SCC and DPOR supporting registration/licensing documentation for each firm (including that of each pertinent branch office).
  • Full size copies of Commonwealth of Virginia DPOR registration certificate for the Key Personnel.
  • DBE or SWaM as defined by 49 CFR Part 26 Certification with Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise.
  • Written Document of the Prime’s commitment to the DBE or SWaM firm to subcontract a portion of the services.

Wythe County Sheriff’s Office is seeking sealed bids for six (6) weapon cabinets for evidence storage. Specifications as follows: 

  • Cabinets measuring 42” x 15” x 84”
  • 24 rifle capacity each cabinet
  • Mesh door with 3-point locking system
  • Powder coat finish 

Bid must include picture of cabinets and include shipping costs to 245 South Fourth Street, Wytheville, VA  24382.

Wythe County Sheriff’s Office is seeking sealed bids for the following: 

  • Twenty (20) evidence storage cabinets measuring 48” x 24” x 78”
  • Two Hundred Forty (240) plastic bins measuring 18” x 16 ½” x 11” 

Cabinets must include system to accommodate the plastic bins at measurements stated above. Bid must include picture of cabinets and include shipping costs to 245 South Fourth Street, Wytheville, VA  24382.

Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed bid proposals for the replacement of the carpet within the Wythe County General District Court Building, 245 South Fourth Street #205, Wytheville, VA.

A single hard copy of the proposal shall be sent to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA  24382 with the envelope clearly marked "General District Court Flooring". Electronic bids may be submitted at www.eva.virginia.gov  

Proposals shall be received no later than 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025. All inquiries about the project or to schedule a site visit, please contact Landon Sayers at lsayers@wytheco.org or 276-223-6119 / 276-724-0998.

Contractor should provide for all of the options listed below:

  • Provide samples to the owner for selection of carpet colors.
  • Remove and dispose of the existing carpet.
  • Remove and glue, dirt, or debris from the concrete.
  • Repair any sub-flooring & use self-leveling compound where needed.
  • Provide materials and labor to install approximately 7500 square feet of Aladdin Mass Media Collection of 24x24 carpet tile. Provide at least one extra box of carpet squares.
  • Provide materials and labor to remove, reinstall & replace oak quarter round & 4" cove base & install any transition strips needed.

General Notes:

  • Work will need to be completed in stages as there will be a need to move furniture, fixtures and benches back and forth. Labor for moving furniture and fixtures will be supplied by the Contractor except computers will be moved by county staff.
  • All demolition materials will be removed and disposed of by the contractor.
  • Contractor will supply all labor, tools and materials to complete the job.
  • In addition to the proposed price, the contractor will provide a certificate of insurance, a copy of their contractor license, a schedule of work and completion time.
  • Payment in full will be made within 45 days of final inspection and submitted invoice.
  • Contractor is encouraged to do a site visit & responsible for verifying all measurements.
  • Work shall be completed the week of April 7-11, 2025.
