The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking BIDS for construction services for Asphalt Paving at 3 locations and Sealing 1 location.

Sealed Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on July 17, 2025 at 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382 at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read. Bids shall be marked “Wythe County Paving 2025 Phase 2” and marked to the attention of Johnny Kincer. Bids may be submitted electronically at www.eva.virginia.gov but one single hard copy must be received by the given deadline.

Wythe County encourages MBE/WBE type firms to submit proposals. 

The County of Wythe reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.

The Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, Virginia will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance at one time or from time to time of bonds by Wythe County.  The estimated maximum amount of the bonds proposed to be issued is $5,508,000 in the aggregate.  The proposed use of the bond proceeds is to pay costs of capital improvements to the County’s water system including extensions to the Barrett Mill area of the County and to pay costs of issuing the bonds.  

The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, and at which persons may appear and present their views on the proposed bond issue, will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Board of Supervisors’ Meeting Room located at 340 South Sixth Street in Wytheville, Virginia.

In compliance with the Code of Virginia of 1950, and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider a proposed ordinance entitled, “Employee Bonus Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia.”

The public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wythe County Board of Supervisors’ Meeting Room, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia. The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, in accordance with Section 33.2-331 of the Code of Virginia, will conduct a joint public hearing in the Board Room of the Wythe County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 at 6:05 p.m. on May 13, 2025The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed Secondary Six-Year Plan for Fiscal Years 2025/26 through 2030/31 in Wythe County and on the Secondary System Construction Budget for Fiscal Year 2025/26.  Copies of the proposed Plan and Budget may be reviewed at the Wytheville Residency Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 2843 Chapman Road, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 or at the Wythe County offices located at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382. 

All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.
