The County of Wythe, the Town of Wytheville and the Town of Rural Retreat will jointly hold a public hearing Monday, November 29, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as practical. The meeting will be held at the Wytheville Meeting Center, 333 Community Boulevard, Wytheville, VA  24382. The public hearing will be one part of a joint governing bodies meeting. 

Purpose: The County and Towns may apply jointly or separately in 2022 for funding from the Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) to support housing development, blight removal, economic development and/or other community improvements, either through state budgeted funds or available federal programs administered by DHCD. 

Public Input: The joint governing bodies seek input from their residents regarding public priorities for applications and funding for DHCD application(s). In compliance with the Code of Virginia of 1950, and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider reenactment of the Ordinance titled, "Supervisors District & Voting Precinct Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia." The Board of Supervisors shall hear comments from citizens concerning the reenactment of this ordinance. The reenactment of this ordinance will not change the existing supervisor districts but updates the ordinance in accordance with the latest census.

The public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 6:05 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider amending the Wythe County Enterprise Zone boundaries. Public comment regarding the proposed amendment will be heard at this hearing. The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 6 p.m. in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

Notice is given that the Board of Supervisors of Wythe County, Virginia (the "Board") will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance at one time or from time to time of bonds by Wythe County. The estimated maximum amount of the bonds proposed to be issued is $800,000 in the aggregate. The proposed use of the bond proceeds are to pay costs of acquiring fire trucks and an incident-command trailer and to pay costs of issuing the bonds. The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, and at which persons may appear and present their views on the proposed bond issue, will be held at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, on September 14, 2021, before the Board in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, located at 340 South Sixth Street in Wytheville, Virginia.

The Wythe County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting proposals to procure a minivan or crossover SUV. The primary use of this vehicle will be travel and to transport equipment from recreational events. Proposals should include: vehicle make, model, year and description, including mileage and known maintenance history; pricing, features included; color; and availability date. Proposals will be received at the Wythe County Administration Office, Attention: Martha G. Collins, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Proposals must be received by Friday, September 3rd 2021, no later than 2 p.m.
