The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 6:05 p.m. in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia for the creation of the Staff Street Transportation Service District of Wythe County for the consideration of street improvements to serve landowners pursuant to Section 15.2-2400 of the Code of Virginia.

The purpose of the public hearing will be to hear from residents and property owners in the proposed district. A copy of the proposed district is available HERE for review.

In compliance with the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing to consider an ordinance entitled, “Exempted Food Service Activities Ordinance of Wythe County, Virginia”. The Board of Supervisors will hear comments from citizens concerning the proposed ordinance.

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 6:05 p.m. in the Board Room of the Wythe County Office Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 15.2-2507 of the Code of Virginia and amendments thereto, that the Wythe County Board of Supervisors intends to consider an amendment to increase the FY22 budget in the amount of $5,571,531 in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recover Funds through the American Rescue Plan Act. Eligible uses for these funds are: Public Health/Covid Impacts, Revenue Loss/Negative Economic Impacts, Essential Worker Support, Infrastructure (Water, Wastewater, Broadband, etc). 

A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 6:05 p.m., or as soon as practicable thereafter, in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 to hear public comment on the proposed budget amendment.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors is seeking written proposals from qualified financial firms to provide permanent financing for an estimated $800,000 bank qualified, tax exempt General Obligation Bond issuance for financing three fire trucks and an incident command trailer. The only security form the Bond will be a pledge of the full faith and credit of the County. The proposals shall include all cost associated with the financing including legal, issuance cost, schedule for disbursement of funds, requirements for arbitrage calculations and annual payment schedule for the duration of the loan. The proposals shall include the following options:

1. $800,000 for ten years with no reset.
2. $800,000 for ten years with a reset after five years.
3. $800,000 for seven years no reset.
4. $800,000 for five years with no reset.

Interested firms should provide relevant information including how potential financing transaction will be structured.
